CHAPTER 56
Aslam and Raju visit Ram (actually Rahim)
At night Rahim was sitting on the table.
Srilaxmi brought food in a plate.
“I have made your favourite sambar.”
She placed the plate in front of him. He sat staring
at her. He was unable to speak.
Srilaxmi asked, “Why are you so silent?”
He looked at her silently.
Srilaxmi said, “Wait. I will mix it for you. When you
were small, I used to make small balls and put them in your mouth.”
She mixed the rice and made round balls. She put one
ball in his mouth. He ate the rice and drank water. Then he took a ball and put
it in her mouth. She smiled. Rahim had tears in his eyes. He became
sentimental.
***********************************************
At night, Srilaxmi was sleeping. Rahim (pretending
to be Ram) was sitting in the hall.
Security entered. “Sir, Raju and Aslam are here.”
Rahim said, “Ok. Bring them in.”
Raju and Aslam entered the hall. They saluted. Rahim
motioned them to sit. They sat down.
Aslam said, “Sir, we heard that your mother had come
here. How is she?”
Rahim said, “Yes. She is here. She is fine.”
Aslam asked, “Sir, what is our tomorrow’s program?”
Instead of answering, Rahim asked, “Any information?”
Raju said, “Sir, intelligence has informed a
possibility of an attack at Delhi gate. We should strengthen the security
there.”
Aslam said, “Sir, Choudhary told me to tell you
personally that there is going to be an attack on the parliament. Suicide
bombers are ready. But we don’t know how or when they will attack. We had to be
alert there.”
Rahim was shocked to know that the commandos had
information about their actions. “Ok. You can leave.”
He looked at Raju. “You stay.”
Aslam felt somehow but he got up and left. He did not
know that Raju was secretly working for the terrorists.
Rahim said, “Day after tomorrow is the muhoortha. The
attack should take place when the session is going on. Make the intelligence
believe that there is going to be an attack on India gate. Divert them to India
Gate. I will look after the rest.”
Raju nodded. “Ok sir.”
