1992 blasts

Commando Rawat was giving a speech to young commandos. “Terrorism started 30 years ago. The Pakistani ISI put the seeds of terrorism in Kashmiri youth. It was easy for them since there was a majority of Muslims in Kashmir. Their first attack was on the Hindus in Kashmir. The ISI trained the Kashmiri Muslims in Pakistan and sent them back with guns to fight with the Kashmiri Hindus. Hindus were scared and ran to Jammu and outskirts of Delhi.”

All were listening attentively.

Rawat continued, “Today, the root of terrorism is Islamic fundamentalism. These organizations are doing anti national activities in all Muslim minority countries troubling the nation in all aspects. They explode bombs and kill innocent people in main bazaars. In India the Pakistan ISI trap the illiterate Muslim youth showing money and telling them that Islam is in trouble. These youth get trained in Pakistan and become ready to do injustice to their own country.”

He showed them some books. “I am issuing these books to you. Study them fully. After the training period is over, you have to be very alert because you will be working in sensitive areas. From tomorrow you training will start.”

In 1992 in Bombay serial blasts took place in trains. The blast scenes were shown on TV. Commando Ram was watching TV with his friends. The whole nation was shaken.

Ram said angrily, “Bastards! They are killing innocent people. We should cut them into pieces. They are being dishonest to their own nation.”

He bit his teeth with anger.

Rahim was watching TV with friends. Bombay blast scenes were being shown on TV.

Gazi said, “More people should die. Not only in Bombay, bombs must burst in Delhi also. Today I will eat Biryani for lunch and dinner also.”

Rahim said, “That day we saw Ayodya. They killed our people. Today watch the tit for tat. That day I had tears in my eyes but today I am feeling very happy.”

Gazi said, “What is the use of just being happy? To save Islam and the Indian Muslims and to teach a lesson to these Hindus we have to act. No use of just sitting and reading the Quran.”

Rahim was silent and thinking. The others watched him. Karim gave signal to Gazi.

Gazi said seriously, “If you just read Quran how can you protect Islam? You have to take the gun and kill all those who are anti-Islamic. We want men who will give their lives for Islam.”

Rahim tightened his body. “I will give my blood and life to protect Islam.”

Gazi became serious. “There is problem not just in India, but also in Palestine and also in Arab countries. Muslims in US and Europe are also facing problems. All Muslims have to unite and get ready for Jihad. Then only Islam will survive.”

Rahim was convinced by Gazi’s words. “I am ready to do anything. I have already read and understood Quram. Now I have to protect Islam. Tell me what I have to do.”

Gazi said, “I will tell you. In Pakistan training is given to those who want to save Islam. I am also a member of Lashkar-E-Thoiba. They need thousands of youth like you who will die for Islam.”

Rahim got ready to die for Islam. He had to get trained. “Tell me how to go there.”

Gazi said, “If you say ok, I will get everything ready.”

Rahim put his hand on Quran. “Allah ki kasam. I will give my life for Islam.”
