Ram’s mother Srilaxmi disappears

Srilaxmi could not sleep. She was now alone in the village house after the death of her husband and daughter-in-law. She kept remembering her husband, daughter and daughter-in-law. She felt scared.

“I have no peace in this house. I feel like going far away to Kashi. I will stay there for 2 days and then go to Ram’s house.”

Ram phoned to Chandu. “How is my mother?”

Chandu said, “Sir, I go to see her every morning. She is always in deep thoughts and very sad. I have even kept a police man in front of the house for security. He looks after all her needs.”

Ram was relieved. “Good.”

Srilaxmi put 2 saris in a small bag and went out of the house.

Police said, “Amma, tell me if you want anything. I will bring it.”

She looked at him. “No. I am just going to the temple nearby.”

“I will come with you.”

“No. I will be safe. You be here only.”

She left. The police man followed her but remained a bit far. She entered the temple and got lost in the crowd. Police waited for her to come out. He waited and waited. But she did not come out. He went in and searched for her. She was no where to be seen. The police phoned to Chandu. Chandu was shocked. “Search everywhere.”

It was evening. Chandu phoned to the Police Control room. “Sir, is there any information about Ram’s mother?”

Control room man said, “We got 2 dead bodies of old ladies. One in Hussain Sagar and the other near Dilshuknagar.”

Chandu was shocked. “Oh my god! I will go there immediately.”

Chandu went to Hussain Sagar and Sai Baba temple in Dilshuknagar to identify the body.

Chandu said, “No. It is not her. I wonder what happened to her. What shall I tell Ram?”

He phoned to Ram. “Sir, your mother went to the temple in the morning and disappeared. We have searched everywhere for her.”

Ram was shocked. “Where is she? What happened to her? She is the only one left for me. I am coming there to look for her.”

He put down the phone and looked at his men. “I am going on leave for 4 days. I have to look for my mother.”
