CHAPTER 12
Ram and Rahim’s future plans
Ram did namaskara to his parents. He had
passed all exams and also won a gold medal in studies. His parents were very
happy. Now he had come to take their blessings as he was going to Delhi to
write the commando exam.
Shekhar said happily, “I never thought that you will
one day become a double graduate and a gold medalist because I am just an
ordinary tailor. I am so proud of you.”
Ram looked at his parents. “It is all because of your
blessings.”
Srilaxmi said happily, “You worked hard and got
scholarship for your studies. We could not have afforded the fees with your
father’s income.”
Ram said, “I am going to write the commando exam. It is
my dream to become a commando. That is why I rejected the lecturer’s post.”
Srilaxmi was worried, “You will be going to such a far
away place like Delhi. Look after your health.”
Ram assured her by saiying, “I will, mommy. Don’t
worry about me.”
************************************************
Rahim had become a Maula. Rahim was now
ready to go to Noor-e-salam to study the Quran deeply. Now he stood in front of
his father wearing the dress of a Maula. He father felt proud of him.
Maula said, “I am so happy to see you in this dress. I
have spent my life in this small Masjid doing namaz and teaching small children
but I am sure that you have already learnt so much in such a small age.”
Rahim said, “Appajan, it is all because of you. You
taught me the first word. There is still so much to learn. What I know is just
a drop in the ocean. Islam and Quran is enlightenment. I want to spend my whole
life reading the Quran.”
Maula hugged him. “I am so proud to have a son like
you.”
Rahim said, “I am so happy to have you as my father. It
is all Allah’s grace.”
Mother brought a box. “There is chapatti in this for 2
days.”
Rahim looked at the chapattis. “There is enough for
one week. You are so generous.”
She hugged him and caressed his head. “Take care of
yourself.”
Rahim looked at his father. “I will be meeting so many
students from different countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Arabia and so
on at Noor-e-salam. Studying there for 2 years is like doing M.A.”
Maula said proudly, “Do you know that it has a history
of 200 years? You are lucky to be studying there.”
Suddenly his first son came in wearing an inspector’s
dress.
Maula looked at his dress and said, “I am so happy to see
you as an inspector.”
Afroz pointed to his dress and said proudly. “I will
protect our nation, papa.”
Rahim said, “I will protect Islam while he protects
the nation.”
Maula looked at his sons proudly.
