Rahim comes to know about Jihad

Maula got a letter from Rahim. He was laughing while reading it. Begam observes this. “What has he written?”

Maula read the letter. “Rahim has come first in the Islamic college. He also got many prizes.”

Begam said happily, “Yes. From childhood, he is like that. He is interested only in Quran and namaz. He will become the Maulvi of a big Masjid.”

Maula nodded, “Yes. He was given by Allah! So he is shining with Allah in his heart. He will become a big Islamic scholar.”

Rahim was sitting in his room with Gazi and Karim.

Gazi said, “You are always coming first in everything.”

Rahim laughed.

Gazi said, “In our country, people will give you red carpet welcome.”

Rahim laughed, “It is all Allah’s blessings.”

Karim said, “In our country also we need person like you to protect Islam.”

Gazi became serious. “Yes. We need an intelligent person like you to spread Islam. But in order to protect Islam, we need a person who will sacrifice his life for Jihad.”

Rahim looked at him in surprise.

Gazi said, “Do you know about the poor state of Islam? There is a problem to its very base. World needs Islam for peace. If it is not there, the whole world will be destroyed.”

Rahim asked with surprise, “What problem is Islam facing?”

Gazi explained, “Islam has problem not in Pakistan but in India. Do you know anything about Kashmir problem?”

Rahim shook his head, “Kashmir problem?”

Gazi said, “Don’t you know Kashmir?”

Rahim said, “I don’t read anything other than Quran. I don’t watch TV or read the news paper.”

Gazi placed his hand on his head. “Don’t you know Babri Masjid? Do you know that they destroyed it just few months back?”

Rahim’s face fell. “Yes. I saw it on TV. I felt very bad.”

Gazi said, “All such things happen only in your country. Do you know that Kashmir belongs to us? To Pakistan. Our people are majority there. But you Indians have placed military there and are killing thousands of Muslim youth.”

Rahim was surprised. “Is it true?”

Gazi said, “If you read the news paper or watch TV regularly, you would have known. But of course, you have to watch Pakistan TV because they don’t show it in your TV channels. Indians are destroying Islam in Kashmir.”

Suddenly they heard the sound of someone coming. Gazi stopped talking.

Gazi whispered, “If you want to know more, I will give you books on the topics. It is all in Urdu. If you read them, you will understand everything.”

He removed two books from his box and gave them to Rahim. One book was ‘Jihad for whom?’ and the other was ‘Islam in Danger’. “Don’t show these books to anyone and don’t tell anyone about the matter. Promise me then only I will give you these books.”

Rahim said, “Allah kasam! I will not show to anyone. Please give me the books. I feel very bad about what you said. I would like to know more about it.”

Karim said, “I also have some books. After you finish reading those books, I will give you mine.”

Rahim nodded his head.
