CHAPTER 46
Death of John
10 days
later..............
John was feeling very tired.
Rahim approached him. “10th day has
arrived. Those bastards refuse to release our men. Now you will not survive any
more.”
Rahim signaled to his men to cut John’s throat.
John got very scared. He pleaded, “Please don’t kill
me.”
One man came and slit John’s throat. Another man caught
the scene in a camera.
Rahim phoned to HM. “You did not release the men. The
time is over. I have done what I promised to do. I am sending you the CD.”
Ram had returned from the village. He took the phone.
“Please don’t kill him.”
Rahim laughed. “You are too late. He is already dead.”
He put down the phone.
Ram was shocked.
HM said, “Our Indian prestige has taken a hit. If you
had been here, this would not have happened.”
Ram said, “Sir, what can I do? My wife also died in
suspicious circumstances.”
He told them what had happened to his wife. All were
shocked.
“I suspect that my wife was also killed by terrorists.
I went to a far away place to do the final rites and had switched off my cell.
I came here as soon as I came to know about John.”

Ram entered his office. Aslam, Raju and
others saluted. Ram occupied his seat and closed his eyes. Then he looked at
Aslam. “Aslam, why did you displace the commandos?”
Aslam was surprised. “Sir, you only ordered me to
shift them.”
Ram was shocked. “What are you saying?”
Raju said, “True sir. You came back here 3 days after
the death of your wife and then went back.”
Ram put his hand on his head. “You are confusing me.
This is the first time I came to the office after the death of my wife.”
All were shocked and confused.
Ram thought, “There is some link between the death of
Vasundara and this incident. I wonder whether these men are playing a game.”

The CD of John’s murder was shown on TV. Public was
scared. The whole world was shocked. Commando Ram observed TV and put his hand
on his head.

Rahim watched TV. He was satisfied and
happy. “This incident has caught international attention. A grand success for
us. Next attack will be on India’s center point.”

Ram was sitting in Choudhary’s office.
Choudhary said, “Those rogues are heartless. I got
information about their leader through IB.”
Ram asked, “Did you get any photo?”
Choudhary shook his head. “No. but he is a hard core
terrorist leader with no.1 criminal mind. He got trained in Afghanistan from
Taliban and in Pakistan with ISI. He only plans the action. There are hundreds
in India to carry out the action part. He is seen only to the 1st
circle. No one else can see him. We can catch him only if we catch on of the
men from the 1st circle.”
Suddenly IB intelligence officer Ravi entered. They
wished each other.
Choudhary said, “Please sit down, Ravi.”
Ravi said, “Sir, I have very important information.
They have put a point on central HM. That hard core terrorist’s code is
‘gabra’. They are trying their best to find a gap. We can’t guess when they
will attack. I am handing over the information to you.”
Choudhary said, “We got bad name due to what happened
to John. This time we have to be alert. Ram is here now. I am sure that he will
handle the case appropriately.”
He looked at Ram. “Ram, I am handing over the case to
you.”
Ram nodded. “Yes sir.”
